After the tumult of 2020, I like so many others was feeling raw and ambivalent, scared and unsure about the future. Having moved to Kenya during the pandemic, my family and I decided we should get away from the city for the New Year and rest in nature for a while. Suddenly all the stress seemed to fade away as we watched the animals continue in their natural rhythms, unfazed by the problems of the world. Each morning the sun rose and the zebras brayed and the trees swayed in the breeze - just as they have for a thousand years. On January 1st, with 2020 behind us, I created this photograph - a tangible reminder of those promises that the sun will always rise with a fresh start and a new day. 

This photograph is extra special because it’s not a true silhouette - the zebra’s stripes are still just barely visible in the image. It makes this image especially enjoyable when printed at a large size.

Hahnemühle Photo Rag cotton paper with exceptional image presentation and museum-quality longevity.

Prints arrive ready for a standard store bought frame, although custom framing is recommended for the Extra Large prints, as there is no border and the frame must fit perfectly.

In case of damage, prints will be reissued.

Returns accepted within 30 days of purchase in original condition and packaging. Customer pays return shipping costs.
