Laura Merz

Laura Merz

Laura Merz is an award-winning fine art photographer and conservationist, celebrated for her timeless yet artistic style. Widely recognized for her achievements, Laura's journey into photography as a student was amplified by a year abroad in Argentina, creating a passion for travel and adventure that has now carried her through life on four continents.

Laura is dedicated to capturing the essence of unique experiences in nature and culture, transcending clichéd snapshots. A resident of multiple countries throughout her adult life - most recently Germany and Kenya - she seamlessly integrates her love for travel and photography with a commitment to environmental stewardship.

At the core of Laura's art lies an unwavering dedication to environmental consciousness. By collaborating with print shops using sustainable materials and eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging, she aims to leave the lightest possible footprint on the planet. Each acrylic print produced is complemented by the planting of a tree, contributing to the preservation of natural resources.

Featured in international campaigns, such as 100 for the Ocean and Prints for Wildlife, Laura is a distinguished conservation-focused artist. A portion of the proceeds from her private artwork sales is directed towards conservation efforts and the support of indigenous communities residing in close proximity to precious natural landscapes.

Aligned with her conviction that effective conservation demands the protection and empowerment of vulnerable populations, Laura allocates 10% of the proceeds from her artwork sales to the African Parks Network. This organization not only safeguards wildlife and national parks across the continent but also places a significant emphasis on the education and empowerment of local communities.

Through her lens, Laura aspires to inspire others to preserve the world's natural beauty and actively participate in shaping a more sustainable future. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Virginia.
