Amidst the unforgiving Samburu desert in Kenya, beneath the relentless African sun, a leopard found refuge high in the branches of an acacia tree. Cloaked in a sleek coat adorned with distinctive rosettes, the queen surveyed the arid expanse with vigilant amber eyes. Below, heatwaves shimmered over the expansive desert as the leopard, a creature of supreme grace, maintained a delicate balance on the gnarled branches. In the distance, a group of elephants stirred up dust, their massive forms casting transient shadows against the horizon. With the sun beginning its descent, casting a warm glow over the desert, the leopard descended, vanishing into the wilderness.

Leopards are highly adaptable big cats, found in a wide range of habitats from the dense rainforests of Southeast Asia to the arid landscapes of sub-Saharan Africa. Their remarkable ability to thrive in diverse environments, including grasslands, savannas, and mountainous regions, makes them one of the most geographically widespread big cat species.

Leopards are known for their exceptional strength and agility. Pound for pound, they are one of the strongest climbers among large cats, often hauling their prey up into the safety of tree branches to avoid scavengers like hyenas. Their powerful build, combined with retractable claws and a keen sense of balance, allows them to navigate challenging terrain with remarkable ease.

The distinctive coat pattern of leopards is composed of rosettes—dark, irregular-shaped spots on a lighter background. Each leopard has a unique arrangement of spots, much like a human fingerprint. This individualized coat pattern not only contributes to their camouflage in the wild but also aids researchers and conservationists in identifying and tracking individual leopards for scientific study and wildlife management.

Are The Prints Signed?

Because my prints are sent directly to you from the print lab, I am unable to sign every print by hand. However, I am ALWAYS happy to sign your print after it arrives when I'm in your area - just send me a message!

Limited Editions versus Open Editions

Limited editions simply means that these prints are only available in certain quantities for that size and paper type. For example, typically my small prints are limited editions of 100 - once they are gone, they wont be available anymore at that size.

Open editions are available forever - these are being offer as acrylic prints in 40" and 60" sizes. I am offering open editions of some of my older images as well as the current collection.

Framing Suggestions

I always prefer to support a local frame shop - however we all have times where we need something a little more budget friendly.

www.frame-it-easy.com is my favorite only solution for custom frames. I don't get anything for recommending them - they're just a really great company I like to support!
