For two days, this cheetah mom had pursued a meal for her three cubs, and she had lost the prey each time. The cubs were with her as she surveyed the animals in the valley below. Moments after this shot was taken, she would leave the cubs behind this mound and take off in a flash after their dinner - a Thompson’s gazelle.
