For two days, this cheetah mama had pursued a meal for her three cubs, and she had lost the prey each time. We sat with her as she reunited with the cubs, and the rain began to come down just as dusk fell. Although she desperately needed to eat, she provided a safe place for her little babes for the night, and they suckled away happy to rest in her warmth. After a good night’s sleep, she would take down an antelope the next day.
