The holographic blue streaking through the sky was transfixing. I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. It landed a bit far from where we were parked, but we hurried toward the spot where it was resting. It took off again, and again we followed. It was eluding me and I had to capture its beauty. When it finally stopped atop this perch, I couldn’t believe how beautifully it popped from the drab greens of the grasses behind it. A glittering jewel in the muted landscape of the Maasai Mara.
